The history of Kensington real estate is reflected in the well-preserved Victorian architectural vision of Brainard Warner, known as the “founder of Kensington”. The popular Kensington Historical Society’s self-guided walking tour takes visitors through neighborhoods filled with history and exquisite architecture including beautiful Victorian homes and cottages poised along tree-lined streets. Visit the historic one-room Noyes library, the still operating B&O Railroad Station built in 1891 and take a stroll around Warner Circle, the 1890s Victorian mansion and a Victorian-era garden laid out in the late 1800s that is mostly unchanged today.
Kensington’s business district is quite well known for its American and European antiques with the shops on Howard Avenue attracting visitors from all parts of the globe. An ever popular attraction is the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market during the spring, summer and fall months.
